Technological Taxis
Attention to detail has put
Premier in the driving seat
Premier cars has always offered a reliable and efficient service, but
the package just got a whole lot better with the introduction of a new booking
and dispatch system.
Company director Alison
Parry and General Manager Peter Renwick have more
than 30 years’ experience between them and are fully aware of what makes a taxi
firm work.
Mr. Renwick
said “Over the years we have seen a dramatic improvement to both efficiency for
the drivers and customers alike.
“We have a mixed fleet of
more than 230 vehicles comprising saloons, estates, five, six or seven-seaters, vehicles adapted for wheelchairs, along with VIP
service for special occasions such as weddings and corporate work.”
The new technology
supplied by Auriga Systems offers a number of
features. There is a text-back service to mobile phones whereby when the
vehicle pulls up outside the pick-up-point, the customer is sent a text message
stating the registration number, colour and type of vehicle.
Mr. Renwick
said: “We have found that there is a huge increase in solo or female passengers
and this technology improves their safety. We also have a lot of pick-ups at
airports, stations, theatres, and schools and this system makes it easier for
the customer to identify the right vehicle.”
The new system also makes
it easier for drivers to efficiently plan routes and monitor customer pick-up
times. It is simple to use and contains features such as automatic plotting by
satellite, information about jobs and a facility that makes the driver aware of
the next job as they make a drop-off.
A full training package
has been put into place to ensure the staff use the new equipment to its full
potential, and in addition, all drivers at Premier Cars have to undergo a full
knowledge test, are given a full Criminal Records Bureau check and are
guaranteed to act in a professional manner at all times.
Mr. Renwick
added: “We have many regular customers, some of whom pay by credit card on a
weekly basis. These contracts are built on our reputation for reliability. We
want to make sure our passengers are given the very best service possible.”
